JoinWhy We Gather
Many of us have become accustomed to ways of living that are profoundly disconnected from what it means to be human.
We live in our heads and lose connection with our bodies. We struggle to stay present with difficult emotions — our own and each other's. We become overwhelmed, numb, hypervigilant, reactive, or withdrawn. We long for meaningful connection while feeling increasingly disconnected from ourselves, one another, and the living world.
And because so much of this has become normalized, we often don't recognize these ways of being as adaptations at all.
Developmental and complex trauma shape our nervous systems and the ways we experience ourselves, safety, and relationship. Alongside our individual histories, we are living amid profound collective stress — environmental grief, social and political division, and the unraveling of familiar structures and ways of life.
Our bodies carry all of this.
When we become accustomed to living in states of survival, we can lose access to some of our most fundamental human capacities: to regulate ourselves, remain present with what we feel, experience empathy and curiosity, repair when there has been rupture, and connect meaningfully with ourselves, one another, and the Earth.
Coming Home is a one-day immersive experience exploring how we got here — and how we find our way back.
Together, we'll explore how trauma and conditioning shape our bodies, nervous systems, and relationships, while practicing ways to cultivate greater presence, emotional regulation, empathy, connection, and choice.
This is an invitation to ReMember what trauma and conditioning can cause us to forget: how to inhabit our bodies, meet one another with greater humanity, and live in deeper relationship with ourselves, each other, and the Earth.
A space to come together. To discover you're not alone in what you carry. To witness and be witnessed. To practice being human with one another — with greater presence, compassion, honesty, and care. To heal what separates us and come together.
What You'll Experience
Through a blend of trauma-aware education, embodied practices, personal reflection, and meaningful connection, this is an opportunity to:
- Understand yourself more deeply. Explore how trauma and conditioning shape your nervous system, emotions, and patterns of relating.
- Come home to your body. Practice ways of cultivating greater presence, grounding, emotional regulation, and choice.
- Experience meaningful connection. Share space with others, witness and be witnessed, and remember that you are not alone in what you carry.
- Cultivate hope and possibility. Discover that our survival adaptations are actually medicine and superpowers that can allow us to more fully live, love, and relate.
- Leave with practices to carry forward. Explore ways to bring greater awareness, compassion, and connection into your everyday life.
No prior experience is necessary, all are welcome.
