What if forgiveness isn’t something we can simply decide to do, but something that becomes possible when the body has finally been heard? Hannah explores the relationship between complex trauma, our nervous system’s survival adaptations, accountability, and the ways spiritual ideas about forgiveness can sometimes lead us to bypass the very wounds asking to be witnessed. Through her own healing journey, she reflects on what it means to hold both the harm done to us and the harm we may have caused—and how loving witness can return us to choice, connection, and sovereignty. Perhaps true forgiveness isn’t about making what happened okay, but allowing love to reach spaces within us until there is nothing left.
